SAAC NW scheduled for Sept. 19, 2024 is cancelled
Track enthusiast and SAAC NW members,
We are disappointed to announce that the SAAC NW 2024 Track Day has been cancelled. The costs this year required us to have 47 cars just to break even as opposed to 35 cars in 2020. At the time of cancellation, we had only 24 cars registered. The SAAC NW board voted to not go forward as the financial burden could have been detrimental to SAAC NW. We believe that with the 60% rise in costs, the later date that we were given and the general burden of inflation on households, all may have had some degree of impact to achieve the number of registrations we would have liked to have seen to continue with our event. Other specialty car clubs are experiencing similar issues. With the high visibility events filling more and more of the premium days, securing earlier dates for our club has been challenging. For 2025 we will explore reformulating sponsorship of our track day and attempt to secure a more favorable day.
Refunds will be handled by our treasurer and should be completed in the next day or two.
